JOHN JAMES WRIGHT, age 42, living on Mount Olive Road in Long Bottom Ohio, was arrested for two misdemeanor counts of violating the terms of a protection order.
Wright was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on March 24 at 5:27 p.m.

Law Enforcement and the Legal System are not designed to deal with individuals like John James Wright, he lives outside of the law, he does not play by the same rules that ultimately hinder Law Enforcement and the Legal Systems ability to help in cases like this.)

What we really want to know is why law enforcement and the court system continues to let this obviously habitual offender back out on the street via an ROR (released on own recognizance), when he has a clearly known and documented history of not showing up for scheduled court hearings??? Also what's up with the backwoods country bumpkins at the Meigs County Sheriff's Department, who actually allowed this fugitive with an outstanding arrest "WARRANT" to live right under their very nose and within their actual jurisdiction for almost three years before Wright was actually arrested by a Marietta Police Officer in Washington County Ohio? Wright had an outstanding Warrant that was issued on May 18th of 2012 after he failed to appear in court for his scheduled hearing on the Domestic Violence charge he received for assaulting his wife Amy R Wright and he was able to evaded being captured for almost three years on that outstanding warrant. Wright had originally entered a plea of Not Guilty at his arraignment in May of 2012, then intentionally failed to appear in court at his scheduled hearing to purposely evade prosecution for assaulting his wife Amy, but he was obviously foolish enough to remain in Ohio thinking he could live here without eventually getting caught for his previous crimes, and his wife Amy was obviously foolish enough to stay with him during that same time period.

The wife Amy R Wright was granted a Temporary Protection Order on May 5th of 2012, unfortunately Amy has also unintentionally violated the very same Temporary Protection Order herself by willingly continuing to live with Wright as husband and wife right up to Wright's arrest on 3/24/2015. The TPO is still active today because Wright has never shown up in court to face the pending charges against him. The wife Amy had been verbally, mentally, and physically abused by Wright on multiple occasions during their marriage, and Wright kept total control over this woman's freedom. Amy was not allowed to have any friends, could not leave the house without Wright accompanying her, and Wright also on multiple occasions purposely withheld his wife's medications for her mental illnesses (PTSD and Anxiety) from her claiming that she was just faking and that she didn't need the prescriptions. Then on one specific occasion Wright actually sold Amy's Xanax prescription in order to get money so that he could buy some motorcycle parts.
Wright's wife Amy was basically a willing (we say "willing" because she could have left at any time but choose to stay) prisoner that lived in a constant state of fear for not only herself but also for her three young boys as well. Amy never actually knew just when Wright's next fit of rage would come, and she had absolutely no idea what might set him off. Wright had threatened to kill his wife on more than one occasion, he also told Amy that if he ever had to go back to jail because of her, when he eventually got out he would find her and kill her.
Fortunately, Amy R Wright was able to make her escape from being John James Wright's willing prisoner and choosing to endure the daily violent and controlling behavior from him. Amy made that escape after Wright was arrested on the evening of March 24th of 2015 when she was finally able to take the children with her to a battered women's shelter in Meigs County Ohio where they are currently staying, while they take the time to recover from the dysfunctional and abusive environment that they were previously forced to live in. We would like to personally thank Amy for being brave enough to come forward and share her story with not only us, but the rest of the world as well. We hope that this story will give other battered women living in a similar situation the strength and courage to finally stand up for themselves and make a choice to leave their abusive relationship before it's to late.
JOHN JAMES WRIGHT is currently a Wanted Fugitive by Ohio Law Enforcement and should be considered dangerous because of his documented history for violence, do not attempt to apprehend this individual. You can also contact the Athens Ohio Police Department at (740) 593-6606 or the Marietta Ohio Police Department at (740) 373-4141, because there are currently multiple outstanding Warrants for his arrest, which were issued by both Athens and Marietta Ohio Municipal Courts during the first few weeks of April in 2015, due to Wright's "Failure to Appear" for scheduled hearings relating to the pending Domestic Violence charge, three counts of "Violating a Temporary Protection Order", and also "Breach of an ROR" (release on own recognizance). An additional WARRANT (2015CRA01446) was issued on 6/19/2015 for 2903.211 MENACING BY STALKING, which is a Felony of the 4th degree. In the 8 years that Amy spent with John James Wright, they lived in Ohio, West Virginia, Colorado, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, Florida, and most recently back to Ohio. Wright could be in any of these states, or he may try completely new area's in an attempt to evade being captured.
